RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances 2002/95/EWG)

Since 01.07.2006, the RoHS has prohibited the use of flame retardants

  • PBB (polybromide biphenyls)
  • PBBE or PBDE (polybromide biphenyl ether)


and the heavy metals
  • lead (Pb)
  • cadmium (Cd)
  • mercury (Hg)
  • chromium VI (CrVI)


Already today, our PCBs do not contain any of the flame retardants which will be prohibited in future.
In terms of heavy metals, only tin lead is used in the HAL surface (hot air levelling).

  • chemical nickel / gold
  • galvanic tin
  • galvanic nickel / gold
  • chemical silver
  • OSP (organic surface protection)
